I launched a new podcast called The Tea Salon! It is designed to highlight Black/BIPOC historical romance authors. I found myself frustrated with the lack of visibility that Black/BIPOC author face not just within publishing but among readers as well. Readers want the Historical Romance we are writing RIGHT NOW and they simply don’t know that we are out here. Influencers can’t/don’t give us attention because the algorithm values trends and mastering the algorithm is the only way for them to get monetized. Publishers generally ignore us or don’t have the resources to fully market us. We only have word of mouth but no one is talking about us. So I decided to be part of the change I wanted to see. This podcast only focuses on Black/BIPOC historical romance authors and their stories. I don’t care if it’s Romantasy or Historical Romance; if it’s set in the past we want to showcase it!
